About the Club
Established in 1995 by a group of enthusiasts the ‘Peninsula Golf & Social Club’ was formed and played at the newly established Maylands Public Golf Course.
Initially founded to promote the enjoyment of golf, whilst operating in the spirit and rules of R & A on a public course, it provided weekly competitions.
It is fair to say the club has expanded beyond the expectations of those early members.
Formally incorporated in 2005, Peninsula Golf club Inc. is now affiliated with Golf Australia and Golf WA and operating the world recognised Golf Link handicapping system, we are no longer just a group of like-minded golf enthusiasts, we are a club that offers many of the benefits of any golf club along with a fierce determination to always maintain play in accordance with the rules of golf and the importance the social aspects accompanying the days event.
Results & prize presentations immediately follow the completion on each of the bi-weekly competitions. Here all competitors can acknowledge the event winners, together with the distribution of a range of novelty prizes including nearest the pins, long drive and longest putt and share their highs and lows of their own rounds whilst enjoying a social snack and beverage.
As a non-for-profit organisation, funds generated from membership subscriptions, match fees, raffles and donations are used to provide an impressive array of match day prizes - often with an offering of food or beverage - an end of year ‘major event’ awards champagne breakfast and even subsidised away-game events at other courses.
“Peninsula Pairs” is an annual open 18-hole tournament for Golf Link handicap holders. Attracting up to 140 competitors, we use this event to raise money for local charities and introduce the Maylands Public Golf Course to a wider audience.
Supported by an enthusiastic members committee, we welcome potential new members, male, female, young and old, to continue the development of the club and widen our ability to further the enjoyment of our members.
